The pursuit of happiness
Do what makes you happy
..is heard a lot in most circles, but, given the complexity of our lives today; it is a tad hard to measure, and thus harder to refine and optimize. I started small. The chart above shows this site’s statistics for the past week; and the chart below shows a distinct drop in my resting heart rate over the same period.
The site’s statistics are a measure of me taking the time to create, post and socialize new content; coupled with that content making the rounds in small-but-expanding circles on the Internet.
So, two possibilities:
- The cynic: You’ve got waay too much free time, dude. That dropped your resting heart rate and you used some of that for a couple of blog posts.
- The realist: Well, one week is not enough of a sample size, but there does seem to be some correlation for you between writing and happiness
I’ll go with the second.
Spend some time, even if it the few minutes required to do something like a blog post; to do what you really like to do.
Start small, think big, move smart.
