Specialized Cyber Defense & Operational Agents
Problem Statement
Expired TLS certificates cause unexpected service outages, while weak cryptographic cipher suites leave web servers vulnerable to interception. Managing certificates manually across large server fleets leads to missed renewal deadlines.
Goal
Build an agent that audits cryptographic certificate inventories, predicts expiration dates, and auto-initiates certificate renewals via ACME/Let’s Encrypt protocols.
Outcome Measurement
- Outage Prevention: Zero outage incidents resulting from expired TLS/SSL certificates.
- Cipher Compliance: 100% of corporate endpoints compliant with modern TLS 1.3 protocol standards.
How the Code was Built
Scans certificate expiration metadata and formats renewal payloads.
Executable Code
from pydantic import BaseModel, Fieldfrom langchain_openai import ChatOpenAIclass CertificateAudit(BaseModel): domain_name: str days_until_expiration: int cipher_suite_rating: str renewal_required: bool renewal_action: strdef audit_tls_certificate(domain: str, days_left: int, cipher: str) -> CertificateAudit: llm = ChatOpenAI(model="gpt-4o", temperature=0) structured_llm = llm.with_structured_output(CertificateAudit) prompt = f"Audit TLS configuration for domain '{domain}': {days_left} days until expiry, using cipher suite '{cipher}'." return structured_llm.invoke(prompt)if __name__ == "__main__": res = audit_tls_certificate("api.company.com", 7, "TLS_ECDHE_RSA_WITH_AES_128_GCM_SHA256") print(f"Domain: {res.domain_name}") print(f"Renewal Needed: {res.renewal_required}") print(f"Action: {res.renewal_action}")
