When researchers analyzed how Pegasus spyware infected iPhones without the user tapping anything, they found something wild. The attackers sent an iMessage with a fake GIF that targeted Apple's image decompression engine. The decompression math was so flexible that the exploit

Microsoft Threat Intelligence has observed threat actors using agentic AI tools to search public GitHub repositories for exposed secrets and then using stolen secrets for further malicious activity against the compromised organization.

The browser is the most patched piece of software most people own. And it's still not enough.

SOC Operations & Automated Incident Response

Problem Statement

Phishing reports submitted by employees flood security operation queues. Manually inspecting raw email headers, extracting URLs, checking domain registration ages, querying sandbox analysis APIs, and deleting malicious emails across all tenant mailboxes takes significant time per incident.

Goal

Develop an agentic pipeline that ingests reported .eml payload metadata, safely parses headers/URLs, analyzes malice, and formats orchestration payloads for email deletion.

Outcome Measurement

  1. Phishing Response Time: Time from user report to enterprise inbox removal reduced from 45 minutes to < 30 seconds.
  2. Accuracy: Zero false-positive removals on legitimate internal corporate communications.

How the Code was Built

The script uses python standard libraries (urllib, re) for deterministic extraction combined with LLM semantic verification of email urgency/phishing language patterns.

suspicious_indicators: List[str] = Field(description="List of detected anomalies")
action_item: str = Field(description="Action to take, e.g., PURGE_MAILBOX, WHITE_LIST, NO_ACTION")
def analyze_phishing_email(headers: str, body: str) -> PhishingAnalysis:
